The ALPINA RAM HR Q-LITE V has an open frame at the bottom and is equipped with a varioflex glass. The self-tinting (photochromatic) lens ensures that the trail is always easy to see, even in changing light conditions. The technology also significantly increases the contrast, makes colours appear richer and provides sharper vision. This allows the eyes to remain focussed for longer so that they are less strained and perform better in crucial moments. With the malleable nose pads, the ALPINA RAM can be optimally adjusted to any nose. Together with the rubber-coated headband, it ensures that the sports glasses sit comfortably and securely.

Fogstop
Fogstop is a coating applied to the inside of the lens. It is not smooth but rough – seen through a microscope it looks quite fissured. This makes it impossible for moisture droplets to form a covering layer, i.e. to mist up the lens, impairing visibility. This could only occur if the humidity level was such that all the fissures are filled with water. But before this can happen, the stored moisture actually condenses, keeping the lens clear.
Varioflex
Varioflex
Varioflex is a lens technology in which the lens tint automatically adjusts to the weather. The self-tinting (photochromatic) lens reacts to visible light. When exposed to radiation, chemical elements open up and create a flat, darkening effect. When the light intensity decreases, the chemical elements close and the lens becomes brighter again. This process takes seconds. The result: a lens for a wide variety of light conditions.
